SENSORIAL PLAY WITH SAND |
THE WONDER OF PLAY DOH |
Tactile play involves squeezing, squashing, flattening, rolling, chopping, cutting, raking, puncturing, poking, shredding, tearing, thumping, kneading etc ... all these different actions help in enhancing and strengthening fine motor development in different ways, apart from hand-eye coordination, concentration and social skills.
PRACTICAL LIFE |
TRANSFERRING WATER IN 3 STAGES
1. BUCKET TO BOTTLE USING LARGE SCOOP & FUNNEL
2. BOTTLE TO WATERING CAN
3. WATERING CAN TO PLANTS
The importance of water pouring activity.
To the untrained eye, the Montessori practical life activities may appear to be ... not a big deal. Just a child's play. On closer examination, these activities present themselves as a highly logical, sequential chain of activities that indirectly lead the child to grander things.
For instance ... on the surface, pouring water is simply, pouring water.
Dive a little deeper and we will find it is much, much more.
This activity is beneficial for developing a sense of order, concentration, independence, confidence, respect for others, fine motor skills, grace and courtesy and self-esteem.
More importantly, the children have fun whilst engaging in these activities. :D
