AT THE BEACH

Week 42 : Oct 14 - 18

SET UP FOR WATER PLAY

SAND PLAY

Splish splash splosh.

What a fun day we had today.

Water Play has wonderful benefits, one of which is to help develop fine and gross MOTOR SKILLS. Children will increase fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination through actions like pouring, scooping, squirting, scrubbing, stirring and squeezing.

Water play allows children to develop PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS. Children explore a substance and make discoveries about it. How many scoops to fill a bucket? It encourages them to use their imagination, develops creative thinking (How many ways can I transfer water from one container to the next?) which plays an important role in problem-solving.

LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT. Learning new words while having fun with water. For car wash activity, words like sponge, soak, squeeze, clean, scrub, circular motion, under, above, side to side ...

SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL GROWTH. It is no secret that children love water play. Playing with water is fun as well as relaxing and soothing for young children. Not only does it calm and help to unwind them, it increases their ability to concentrate on one activity (scooping, pouring or enjoying the sensation of running their hands through water). It also encourages role play and crucial social skills like cooperation and sharing. They learn to work with their friends, to take turns and share the space and water toys with them. Quite effectively.

OUR CHILDREN were so well-behaved during water play today. They played responsibly and orderly with one another. Squirting, shooting, splashing, dodging water ... squealing and laughing out loud ... All in the name of fun!

Thank you DEAR PARENTS for dressing your kids up in appropriate beach wear and supplying water toys.

Imagination was on the loose today.

And Creativity was not far behind.

BEACH WORDS

Pinocchio kids are going to the pool at Tiara.

We left school at 9 am and arrived at Tiara at 9:10am.

We lined up before walking to the pool, posing for photos along the way.

At the pool side, we arranged our slippers and bags in a neat row.

We sat down to receive instructions on water safety and how to behave in the pool.

We couldn't wait to get into the pool.

The water was crystal clear. The pool was shaded from the sun.

It certainly was a beautiful day ... for a day at the pool.

We jumped into the water at about 9:30am.

We played with our water toys, squirted bubbles with water guns, floated freely in our tubes, paddled hard on our swimming boards, had endless water fights with one another, and took special delight aiming our water guns at our teachers.

Some of us even did a few laps in the big pool.

It was so fun.

It was so awesome.

It was so ....

What???

Time to get out???

Already???

NooOoooOoooOooo!!!

Time just flew by ... especially fast ... at the pool.

We went to the changing room, 3 at a time. We pretended not to hear our teachers calling us to get out, in a clever attempt to spend a few more extra precious minutes in the water.

The Pizza Delivery Guy appeared at 11 am.

By that time, half of us were already changed and the other half were still trying to hide in the water.

Aimee's parents contributed to our snack time at the pool.

We are so happy and grateful for the surprise pizza treat. We take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to Aimee's dad and mom for their kind contribution. Uncle Bryan ordered Hawaiian Chicken and Chicken Pepperoni for us.

Extra Large.

Good good.

We took a big bite.

Yummy yum yum!

Munch munch munch.

Pizza truly taste so fantastically out-of-this-world delicious after a swim.

We all agreed the pizza was the BEST EVA in the whole wide world.

Finger lickin' awesome good.

We finished up every bit of crumb in the 2 extra-large pizza boxes.

We left Tiara at 11:50 am, and reached school just a minute before 12 pm.

Perfect timing.

We love today so much, we told our teachers. :D
